From the mind of Aizzel

Is it really just a game?

Why is it when it comes down to it people calls this place we meet and hangout at a game? When we meet people and talk about them we only refer to them as second life friends and not real life friends. I will admit I to am guilty of this. But I have stop calling them second life friends, real life friends and just called them friends. I mean I do talk to them outside of this "game". Most of us don't we exchange phone numbers, emails, myspaces and sn for messengers to still talk to them. Some even as some may still be weirded out by find love and date people they met off of second life. And why is that so hard to believe and understand. Most people meet online these days, rather it was myspace, or an actual dating site some pay for like eharmony or cupid it's still a way of getting to know someone. Probably better too I mean how many creepos are there at bars who are looking for that one night stand while a girl is looking for mr right? Ok yes there are some creeps online too but you can weed those out. And of going off subject here.
But why do most want to call it a game? Do they not have friends they consider someone they can confide in and share something with. Are the people they are friends with just a made up character with no emotional ties to them. I don't know maybe I don't get it. But in my opinion I do know that when someone refers to this as just a "game", they have hurt someone elses feelings. Last time I check I was human, and I do get hurt with rude comments and hurtful things and yes my feelings can get hurt, but really when you hurt someone's feelings the only thing you can think of to say thats acceptable is, "Get over it, it's just a game".
Well I guess to me it's more than a game. It's a community to meet people from all over, and develop some great friendship with people I would have never gotten the chance of ever meeting and of course prove that I Aizzel am a shopoholic with a shoe problem. Plus if it really is just a game with just made up people, why are there sims for actual role playing and a way to make up a different life.

Blogging for the Sake of Blogging

So just lost my motivation for an actual blog. But I do want to post some pictures and just because I can I will. The other day a really good friend of mine Ursul Turk had taken some pictures for me becaus he is awesome like that.

Here I am just standing around in his shop, look him up he owns his studio and he is awesome as you can see. I like to bug him and keep him company at random times when I don't feel like spending money I shouldn't spending. Haha

This is probably my favorite picture he has taken for me. This is my full body shot for the Miss SL 2009 (crossing fingers it was good enough to be entered into). I just love love this picture. Plus wearing a great dress from House of Nyla helps out a lot too.

Well there goes my random post. Really no direction just a reason to show case some awesome pictures from a great photographer.

A Night Of Shopping

So in my total randomness and boredom I decided to do a little shopping since most of the few small selective friends I had were all offline and well I came up with really great things. I mean omg totally awesome. The jacket and shorts are from Abyss and besides having the best looking guy skins there the clothes are not that bad and the prices are really good too. It seems a lot of the things they have there unisex and sometimes I am warry of that, what if it doesn't look that great on a girl, but ah it does. This is now one of my favorite jackets, I'll probably end up with it on with everything.

On my next journey I went for shoes. Now what girl does not love shoes, in second life or real life. But I am and must be one of the pickiest girls when it comes to shoe shopping on second life. Because what you see in pictures or on other girls will not always look the same for you. And this goes in real life too. I am a strong believer of trying on all demo's to make sure it has the right look for you and that you know you are going to love it. Usually when I buy a pair of shoes I am awfully loyal to the place I've bought them from. Since it takes a while for me to find another shoe store I will fall in love with. I guess you can say I hate change. So I just bought my second pair of shoes from Maitreya and I love them. Now my goal to find a pair in real life. They are like a Maryjane with a grown up appeal. I mean I can wear these with anything.

Now as for the hair that came from Aden, that was actually a new hair shop. I have never been there, but again the price convince me it was worth to try it on. Again I must stress try on all the demo's because what you see on one girl might not look right on you. Especially since and literally speaking all of come in different shapes and sizes. But I like the place I'm tempted to go back again for another one, I'll just have to wait and see once I get bored. Well that was my random night of shopping and in the end I ended up with a cute little penguin who I now call Charlie. Take care!

Hotness according to Brooke

So it doesn't take a genius to work out that I spend much of my free time shopping around SL and checking out the Fashion Planet Feed. Between the feed, some good friends and my knack for heading to random Sims and seeing what's around, I do manage to get some awesome buys. Granted, they aren't always cheap; the following three items ranging from 50L up to 600L and true, I end up with a lot of crap too but when I do get a good find, the crap ones seem to get forgotten.

I'd been looking for a decent pair of Chucks on SL for a while now and though I'd seen some alright knock offs, nothing has been able to compare to the ones they are selling at Akeyo. Priced at the aforementioned 600L you may be reluctant to make this purchase but I promise you - this is one big spend you will not regret.

With a nifty little hud, you're able to change the size and color of your Chucks at the click of a button. Want to have Black Chucks with red laces? Done. Want to have one Yellow Chuck and one White? done. Heck - feel like dressing like a clown and want chucks so big that you look like a circus freak -- done.

The Chucks have free updates that come out to fix any bugs and the latest even came with some more options.

The FNKY/Cake store has always been a bit of a favorite of mine, well - at least the FNKY side of things, especially when it comes to accessories. Granted, I tend to spend more time drooling than I do actually buying because even I have trouble justifying the 300L+ price tags on a pair of SL sunglasses. That was... until a couple of days ago. These Funky: Juicy sunnies in the burgundy even come with a scripted lens color change.

Pricey - maybe but here's how I look at it. You're better off sending more money on one pair of sunnies (or um.... many more if you're me) that you like, than wasting a bunch of L's on a heap of crappy ones that you'll probably never wear. For the guys - FNKY have some really not looking skins. Happened to see one guy trying it on and was pretty impressed. Personally, I still prefer Abyss but it owns the male collection at MM.

Can anyone say BARGAIN! So any self respecting Tim Burton fan needs no introduction to Jack Skellington. Thanks to my friend Ursul, I was introduced to the Paper Street Soap Company (Yes- think Fight Club here). This place is a little haven for pop culturey goodness. Dude - you can buy a Moobies & A Quickstop! (Clerks - if you need to ask me what that is - I pity you!)

There's some reasonably priced stuff here and a very very keen trench coat that I now have in my stack of jackets and so on. At the low low low price of 50L, lil Jack doesn't do much more than flame on and off his pumpkin but dude... he looks damn cool!

Second Life Pet Peeve #376: Skin Thefters

Now see - It's pretty hard to get to me in Second Life, but about the easiest way to do it - is to know what skin I have, be a person that I don't particularly like, and then go out and buy my  skin.

This has happened to me, not once... but twice in the last freakin week. First time now hey... like I cared because - though I didn't think it was possible to make a Redgrave Skin look bad, there's an SL hookery type that manages to do just that. The second person? Well honestly I didn't even see it first hand. I got the word of warning, got pissed off and hell... I got myself a new Redgrave skin.

It's not a bad little upgrade considering the "Angelina" only came with six make ups. Had to do a little tweaking to my shape so I didn't look tard but gotta admit - I'm pretty keen on the old Scarlet skin - even matches my beauty spot from RL. So yes - a new look BrookeMaree. I think I could really start to dig this skin.
