Is it really just a game?
Why is it when it comes down to it people calls this place we meet and hangout at a game? When we meet people and talk about them we only refer to them as second life friends and not real life friends. I will admit I to am guilty of this. But I have stop calling them second life friends, real life friends and just called them friends. I mean I do talk to them outside of this "game". Most of us don't we exchange phone numbers, emails, myspaces and sn for messengers to still talk to them. Some even as some may still be weirded out by find love and date people they met off of second life. And why is that so hard to believe and understand. Most people meet online these days, rather it was myspace, or an actual dating site some pay for like eharmony or cupid it's still a way of getting to know someone. Probably better too I mean how many creepos are there at bars who are looking for that one night stand while a girl is looking for mr right? Ok yes there are some creeps online too but you can weed those out. And of going off subject here.
But why do most want to call it a game? Do they not have friends they consider someone they can confide in and share something with. Are the people they are friends with just a made up character with no emotional ties to them. I don't know maybe I don't get it. But in my opinion I do know that when someone refers to this as just a "game", they have hurt someone elses feelings. Last time I check I was human, and I do get hurt with rude comments and hurtful things and yes my feelings can get hurt, but really when you hurt someone's feelings the only thing you can think of to say thats acceptable is, "Get over it, it's just a game".
Well I guess to me it's more than a game. It's a community to meet people from all over, and develop some great friendship with people I would have never gotten the chance of ever meeting and of course prove that I Aizzel am a shopoholic with a shoe problem. Plus if it really is just a game with just made up people, why are there sims for actual role playing and a way to make up a different life.
